Cosmarium depressum
This is the green algae Cosmarium, sp. More specifically, I think it is Cosmarium depressum. This is a type of desmid. Note that this is one cell joined at the isthmus. This particular example has secreated a large amount of mucilage. Found in a Norther Indiana lake.
