Neil Crossing the Corran Burn

After being dropped off it was immediately time for gaiters, leggings and waterproofs. The forecast had been for it to clear up later in the afternoon so the plan was to endure the early showers and hope that by the time we reached the col between the two peaks there might be some evidence of this to encourage us onto them.

We set off with a spring in our step despite the rain but we did wonder how Ian and Dave would have enjoyed the experience, having only ever been on a mountain once before when it was gloriously sunny, very hot and very dry. Truth is, it was actually a lot wetter than it had been two years earlier and after only about twenty minutes I had to concede that the Dead Marshes REALLY were wet!

After half an hour or so it had sunk in that this drizzle wasn't stopping any time soon so I stopped and put my rucksack cover on. Cass, ever the optimist, had yet to put all his waterproofs on - but he did now.

After just over an hour we reached this point - the crossing over the Corran burn at the exit point from Loch an t-Siob.

Rob videoed Neil making the crossing because last time Neil had slipped at the far end and taken a bit of a plunge. This time it was a lot windier and looked a lot more precarious - especially with those rocks looking so slippery.
