Blackpool Flexity 2 tram 009, Starr Gate tram depot. 2012
New Blackpool tram 009 is driven into Starr Gate tram depot at 18:28 on Thursday evening 08 March 2012 just 1½ hours after arriving on its low loader.
The Bombardier Flexity 2 tram was originally expected to arrive at lunchtime but due to a lorry and car fire on the M61 its delivery was deferred until Friday 09 March. However during the afternoon phone calls between Blackpool Transport, the Police and Bombardier took place and the Police gave priority for the tram to resume its journey on to Blackpool on Thursday before the peak hour traffic build up. 009 arrived at Starr Gate at 16:50 some 40 minutes before its rescheduled arrival time of 17:30.
On Thursday evening 08 March 2012 Starr Gate depot and workshops contained the following trams:
Blackpool: 001, 002, 003, 004, 005, 006, 007, 008, 009 and 709.
