Wicked Yellow Splash
Water balloon splash taken on a home-built popping rig.
Strobist / Setup;
- Hung a water balloon in front of a home-built popping rig.
- When triggered, the rig drove a spike into the balloon from behind.
- Used a quaketronics sound trigger attached to the rig.
- Tridgger drove one SB-800 flash set at 1 o'clock. Another SB-800 set to slave mode is at 9 o'clock. Both were set to 1/8th power.
- Cropping, light levels and yellow tint color added in Picasa.
- Balloon is against a black background; the spike is driven through a hole in the material. This kept the background mostly uniform and allowed a nice contrast against the water body. (Plus it obscured the rig...:) )
