The Clock Tower was built in 1667 by order of Sultan Mahmud, it is the entrance to the Old Town and is practically a visiting card and the main attraction of Herceg Novi. The tower itself is 16 meters high. The tower is the main symbol of the city and even occupies a central role in the city's coat of arms and flag. During the Turkish rule, this was the main city gate.
