Static Ignition Timming for Riley Elf

To view ignition timing a mirror is needed to view markings.

My method.

Jack up drivers side wheel.

Remove distributor cap

Remove spark plugs. Locate cylinder 1 (near radiator) turn front wheel

until piston is at the top. Observe rotor arm is pointing to cylinder 1.

Turn the wheel until contact breakers just begin to open.

Use a 12v bulb between Ignition coil CB and ground for accuracy.

Adjust distributor timing to 5 degrees.

Done
