Where the mountains dip their feet in a turquoise sea between cove after cove of pure white sand. The sensational Arisaig Coast.

Commentary.

Morar to Arisaig is only ten miles of coastline.

Here, the coastline is low, with a mountain backcloth.

Multiple rocky headlands and skerries proliferate the shore.

Between each is a perfect crescent of silver-white shell-sand,

20, 30, 40 – almost continuous and end to end.

There is also several tombolos, where one beach backs on to another.

The hinterland is pine forest, low, heather-clad hills, gorse, a few scattered dwellings, fields, smallholdings and a few discrete campsites.

The shallow waters are turquoise and warmed by the Gulf Stream.

The sea is often calm where Atlantic swells are broken by large islands and small, rocky islets called “Skerries.”

Therefore, like Moidart, this area is very popular with kayakers and canoeists.

The horizon is one of hills and mountains on the islands of Eigg, Rum and Skye.

The beaches are pristine, the air is pure and the scenery is fantastic.
