Sacharissa
This is Sacharissa, my Keeper of Secrets!
I'm really pleased with her. I feel this kit is probably the most technically challenging model I've made so far and I had to use pretty much every trick I know to complete it. Every component has been pinned (even the spikes on the leg!), and filling & smoothing out those shoulder joints so they
wouldn't show under the paintwork was a labour of love. Everything had to be done so carefully, so as not to spoil the eventual finish!
I achieved the skin tone by using an airbrush to pre-shade and pre-highlight with various shades of brown, and then very carefully airbrushed a SUPER thin layer of purple over the top in several layers, gradually building it up to achieve the tone I wanted... The ratio was something like 1:15 in purple to thinner! I experimented with this technique on the Daemonettes and Seekers before feeling confident enough to tackle the Keeper of Secrets. The claws were sprayed using a mixture of purple and grey, and all the other details were carefully painted by hand.
As someone who previously has shied away from models with large sections of exposed skin due to it being more unforgiving of mistakes, I really feel like this kit represents a huge milestone for me, and I’m very proud of what I’ve accomplished. I may never be good enough to win a Golden Daemon, but I will always have Sacharissa!
