Twins

Young Burrowing Owlets on Marco Island. This is Owlet season of this species. They grow very fast and will fledge soon. They are protected so the numbers are holding their own. The challenge is to provide open land for their burrows. They vacate the burrows in the late spring and hunt small reptiles and amphibians until next winter when they find or build a burrow for nesting and breeding.
