Shrooms!

Went for a wander around the beautiful National Trust property Knightshayes Court today.

Came across these familiar and autumnal toadstools amongst a sea of green grass.

The Amanita mascara, or the Fly Agaric as we more commonly know it, is one of the most iconic and distinctive of the toadstools, commonly depicted in children’s books and on Christmas cards around the world.

It is easily recognised with its red cap and white spots, the Fly Agaric is renowned for its toxicity and hallucinogenic properties, so be sure you don't collect any of these for your supper whilst on a mushroom hunt!
