When The Leaves Break
Taking the new phone out for a test run. The LG G6 takes great photos, with the exception of macro photography...
Software processing is far too aggressive. It's not something that interrupts regular shots, but scaling down to macro, especially when the subject is less than 5 cm large, ruins the whole experience.
The resulting image is very, very grainy, far too 'sharp' and lots of natural detail is lost. This is the case with bugs and insects in particular.
Leaves however, looks lovely. I don't think there's a way I can circumvent this mechanically with the DIY lenses, but hopefully LG will sort it out in a future software update. That in mind, I don't feel that most of their consumers are using the camera as I am. Oh well, guess I'll keep the Lg G4 for macros :).
