This adult female Harris's hawk just sampled a Mourning Dove before her mate took the remainder and flew off. The smaller male scattered the Dove's in the backyard followed by a BOOM as a dove hit the window and the female comes in behind and picks up the stunned Dove. This female is 1/2 of the mature pair that we see basically every day on out walks around the hood. I will post the Male next. My previous posts are the subadults of a total group of five hawk's that work together to enjoy the smorgasbord of urban wildlife. Rock Pigeons, Mourning and Eurasian Collard Doves along with Rabbits appear to be the main courses. The only time we get a window collision is when a hawk is involved so it gives you an appreciation of the panic these guys inflict!
