Skatebording #1

This image was my first attempt at replicating the work of Mike Blabac and so this image uses the components that are very similar to 'Skateboarding #2' in order to practice this style and started to develop my own style of skateboarding photography as this was the very first image that I had taken for this project. As I am an avid skateboarder I already had a good knowledge of photographers and images I could accurately recreate the styles of. I found images in skateboarding magazines such as Thrasher Magazine and other online sources, Thrasher was a source for my research as this is a magazine that I regularly read. I did not try to apply my own style to this image, I just tried to recreate some of the images that I found in my research. I did have to adapt the style to work in my own environment so the image was not as straightforward as it would have been to recreate an image in a studio like a portrait. I had to persevere in order to get the final image I was aiming for.
