Kanga Nianzé
A project by choreographer and dancer Jenny Mezile on the theme of the ‘Route d´Esclaves’ in Côte d'Ivoire, combining history with contemporary dance, theatre, Afrofuturism and social activism. The young dancers come from the poorer neighbourhoods of Abidjan and this project offers them the opportunity to train as professional dancers, thereby providing them with prospects for the future. The photos were taken off-stage, on the streets of the neighbourhoods where they live.
