Headless Rider?

This is one of the exhibits in the temporary exhibition "Breedbeeld" ('Bigger Picture') in BRUSK in Bruges, Belgium. The exhibition shows that medieval Bruges had connections with the whole world, that traders came from different directions, that foreigners lived here.

The statue of this horse is proof that arabic horses were known in Bruges (Flemish horses are much heavier, with shorter ears). The statue was put on the roof of a rich person's house and functioned as a kind of housenumber: people looked at the roofs to know where someone lived (and of course the statues were different from others).

I found this one very elegant.
