Roaring River
I took this shot while hiking to Vernal Falls during my trip to Yosemite last summer.
Although it was the middle of the day and the light was not great, I think this picture was still able to capture the beauty of the park: giant granite monoliths, towering waterfalls (like Illilouette Falls in the background), and peaceful streams and trails.
In some areas, the intense flow of the Merced River easily drowned out the voices of nearby hikers, but in this spot, the stream was (relatively) calm. This allowed me to take some time to think about just how beautiful our Earth really is, and as I type this, I realize how I can't wait to return to Yosemite.
