Cursive Rant

I had a big shock the other day when i found out that the school my daughter is going to attend no longer teaches cursive.

They say it's an antiquated writing system that has been replaced with computers and typewriters is illegible and a waste of time to teach kids a totally different alphabet.

I think it's sad when schools stop teaching what I consider an art. I can't even imagine not being able to sign my own name. I'm proud of my signature and it reflects my personality. as far as being illegible, lets put the blame were it belongs...messy penmanship coupled with a lack of teaching not a flawed writing system.

as long as our education is spiraling down the road to ignorance we should just stop teaching math because we all use calculators.
