“Seven Nines Bigfoot” Legend
On September 9, 1999, shortly after 9 A.M. on farmland abutting Route 9 (thus the seven “9’s”), a Bigfoot was allegedly spotted in Belchertown, MA.
At the site, located on the fringe of the Quabbin Reservoir and its 100 square kilometers of forested conservation land, the creature was observed and photographed by two friends from nearby Springfield, MA. While heading to the reservoir that morning, the duo pulled over in their Chevy Blazer SUV and captured an image on film of the renown cryptid as it walked out from behind large bales of hay.
Park rangers at the “Quabbin” have collected similar reports, primarily since the late 1970’s.
This picture recreates the event well known to outdoor enthusiasts from Western, MA.
