HISTORY

Pillar completed 9th September 1947 costing £5.4s.6d. computed as tertiary station NZ42/T32 during 1948. Levelled for height to first class precision, tertiary standards in 1965. Last maintained by the OS in April 1986.

 

SITE VISIT

Some localised gardening was required in order to photograph the FB face of the pillar. In good condition but spider centre open. Flush bracket faces 318° NW along boundary hedge. Vented through SE sight hole. Open westerly outlook but otherwise limited by surrounding hedges and copse to SE.
