Gokokuin Temple.

This temple of Shigon sect Buddhism was opened by Gyoki during the Tempyo period [ 729-749] and originally called Yakushiji temple .After the temple was severely damaged by a flood in 948.Saimi Shonin restored the temple and renamed it Gokokuin temple.The temples main sculpture of worship is Yakushi-Nyorai ,which is believed to be one of Gyokis works.
