MUHS Sophomore Class of 1928-1929
This appears to be a photo of the Sophomore class of 1928-1929. The clues are class size and the presence of Dale Fischer. Dale only attended Mohawk Union High School for two years and his Freshman class had over 30 students, but only 22 his Sophomore year.
Dale is the boy just right of center in the front wearing a sweater vest and sweater and has wavy hair. When Dale grew up he sold the family mills and started Farwest Steel Corporation.
Nellie Schroll is second row third from left in the cat with fur trim.
Back row far left is Frances Ratterree.
The class roster is (the census has 22 kids, the photo has 20. Reva Tull dropped during the year so she is probably one of the two missing students):
Howard Bailey (15), Lucille Clearwater (14), Violet Cole (13), Esther Cowling (17), Herschel Dorsey (16), Lula Drew (15), Shirley Drew (12), Dale Fischer (14), Herschel Hardisty (15), Hilma Healy (15), Louis Estes (19), Reba Logan (14), Ruth Matteson (15), Gladys McMillen (15), Thomas Mehl (16), Doris Morrow (13), Mable Phillips (17), Francis Price (15), Francis Ratteree (15), Nellie Schroll (15), Reva Tull (15), and Elizabeth Wojniak (15).
