Pensnett Loop
The passing loop outside the former Pensnett Goods Yard, on the Wolverhampton & Kingswinford Railway - otherwise known as the Wombourne Branch. The line was built between 1912 and 1925, with construction being halted due to WW1. Open to passengers for just seven years from 1925-32, most of the route closed under the Beeching Axe in 1965 and ends a few hundred yards ahead of this point.
The line between Kingswinford Junction and Pensnett Industrial Estate remained open until 1994. The track along the line is in situ but heavily overgrown with mature trees, except for the yard at Pensnett has recently been cleared of track (Summer-Autumn 2015).
The section of line south from Pensnett is used as an unofficial path by locals.
