Lonely Tawny

I saw this lone tawny frogmouth juvenile in the same spot beside Currumbin Creek on two afternoons 48 hours apart. It was gone 24 hours later. It's not often you get a second chance with these hard to spot birds. Their camouflage is very effective and close examination of this close-up will reveal the way plumage is coloured and constructed to look like various Australian tree barks. I hope this image is worth the wait.
