Ivy Loves the Rug

Ivy is ageing and is lovingly cared for by my friend. However she seeks a little extra emotional comfort these days. One of her comforts seems to be a mouthful of 'shag-pile' rug. I don't understand this and she cannot or will not explain. Whatever, she willingly participates in this still doleful study of companionship and textures.
