Ceramic Rose (The Foreshadowing Of Future Events)
Brief: Patterns In Nature
This piece was as focused round it's metaphorical value as it was it's face vale. I used eyes as they are a visual artists primary source for creating works and a keyhole was placed in the palm to represent art being the key to my own self expression. The hand with broken fingers (intially done by accident though an asthetic I liked and thus decided to keep) is representative of the problems and struggles I have experienced to get to where I am now. The hand being openin a giving gesture represents what happens as a result of these combined factors. I could not ever have seen these broken fingers being a foreshadowing of a future event as the end of that year I ended up having to have surgery on those very two fingers due to an accident.
