Celebrate!
This lily was one of a huge bouquet of mixed flowers that my sweetie gave me for our 25th wedding anniversary recently. I wanted to see it in natural light and took the whole bouquet outside. I was fascinated by the little drop of nectar, or whatever that is, just under the stigma. This blossom had no orange anthers on the stamens, just the simple filaments, curving gracefully around the pistil. Our darkening forest provided a perfect backdrop for the bright pink petals and the backlit pistil.
