Le piton d'Anchaing (1356 m), face sud-est

Ce piton surplombe le centre du cirque naturel de Salazie où il aurait glissé après s'être détaché du Gros Morne. Il doit son nom à l'esclave marron légendaire appelé Anchaing, qui l'aurait choisi pour refuge dans sa fuite.

 

This peak overlooks the center of the natural cirque of Salazie where it would have slipped after breaking away from Gros Morne. It owes its name to the legendary Maroon slave called Anchaing, who is said to have chosen it for refuge during his flight.
