The parallel aisles behind produce

SET 2 – Ridgeland Kroger, Pre-Remodel

Keeping the same vantage point as the previous image but spinning around to face towards the rear wall instead of the front one, here we get a good idea of what it’s like to encounter the parallel aisles in relation to the rear actionway. Certainly a bit unconventional, but you can also see how this makes the flow a lot better than if there were double the number of short, perpendicular aisles occupying this same space!

Also of note is that, back in the Albertsons days, there were likely a number of other parallel aisles in the store too, which I already mentioned a few photos back. This pic actually appears to show one such aisle, and if I’m not mistaken it looks as if that’s an entire refrigerated case that blocks off the entirety of the main grocery aisles from easy access from the rear actionway. Echoing Sing Oil Blog's recent comment, that setup really hinders navigation!

These places are public so these photos are too, but just as I tell where they came from, I'd appreciate if you'd say who :)
