Rail Linc Replacement - 1

VR Travel of Merthyr Tydfil bought four Alexander PS-bodied Volvo B10Ms from East Yorkshire in 2010 and 2011. These were new to Stagecoach's Ribble fleet for competitive services in Manchester against GM Buses, but passed with the services to Manchester-based Finglands prior to Stagecoach buying GM Buses South. East Yorkshire subsequently acquired the Finglands business and the Volvos ended up in the main East Yorkshire fleet on Humberside.

VR sold on two of the Volvos within a few months, but M427 RRN, which took up fleetnumber 103, stayed until the business passed to New Adventure Travel in September 2013. NAT sold her on to John's Travel of Merthyr Tydfil in December 2013 for use on school contracts, where she operates alongside former Stagecoach 20698 (P318 EFL), and still retains her attractive East Yorkshire colours.

In this April 2011 shot, she was operating "Rail linc" Service 901 between Blackwood and Ystrad Mynach, which VR had acquired after the sudden demise of Clarkes of Tredegar, and was arriving at Ystrad Mynach Railway Station on the first day of the contract.

Wonderful Machines.
