CB&Q F3AB 128DC (built in 1948) and a F7A, making a perfect ABA set, lead a freight through my hometown of Westmont, Illinois on January 26, 1966
The Q bought its early F-unit in ABBA sets. Being a flatlander railroad it discovered for trains of the day it needed only three units. So it broke the ABBA sets in half and added an F7A to each half. Nice solution!
