DSC_0050-1

With a clear night forecast, me and Andy headed up to Dunstanburgh Castle and Bamburgh Castle. I hadn't done Dunstanburgh at night before......it was amazing, although freezing, the skies were so clear we were able to see the Milky Way with the naked eye. Also managed to get a few photos of the Milky Way behind the castle. One of them we tried light painting with a torch to light up the dark building.

Unfortunately at Bamburgh, I made a schoolboy error while taking multiple shots with an intervelometer to make process star trails. That error was not to check the lens and it fogged up from the sea breeze, therefore after the second photo of a series of 30ish photos, they couldn't be used. Lesson learned, but still good craic with a good friend, I can't wait to see his Bamburgh lighthouse photos.
