NREC Gen sets
Gen set locos 1201,1202 are stabled with C504,C509 in the Cootamundra depot on 16-10-18.
In 2013 five gen set locos were built by NREC in Kentucky USA before El Zorro collapsed.
2 of the units were sent to Australia as demonstrators arriving at Pt Kembla and trialled initially in New South Wales before being transferred to South Australia in December 2014 for evaluation by Bowmans Rail and SCT.
Later the units were transferred back to New South Wales and have seen only occasional use by Southern Shorthaul Railroad.
