Arthur Pudney: builder and contractor who kept a large workshop and shopfront at Rosewater.
He was the son of Mr H J Pudney, the veteran unionist and President of the Port Adelaide branch of the Seamen's Union. He was a member of the Congregational Church and was active in other community affairs.
Arthur Pudney was president of the Rosewater Swimming Club that in February 1931 opened with a membership of 312 and 60 children.
Rosewater Swimming Club Season Opens
The Rosewater Amateur Swimming Club was opened for the season at the Dock, Port Adelaide, on Saturday by the president (Mr Arthur Pudney) before a large attendance of swimmers and visitors Mr Pudney said the progress of the club in two years was indicated by its three dressing sheds and landing facilities for races. He was supported by Mr A V Thompson MP, who said that the club had made excellent use of the space made available by the Harbors Board. Ref: Advertiser 14-11-1932
