Bronze Tiger #0: Pilot/Expendable
(Slightly rainy night in Japan, where the League has been performing quick recon hits. Bronze Tiger has just finished his showdown with Silver Swan. Tiger gets the upper hand and knocks her out. Cut to nearby rooftop:)
Onyx: “Where have you been?”
Ben: “Been busy. Silver Swan intercepted—that’s why I’m a little late. Where’s Cain by the way?”
Onyx: “He’s not coming.”
Ben: “Well. I guess he’s busy having his training.
Onyx: “Precisely. Drop zone in 5.”
Ben: “Aight. Guess I have to do the job myself......”
I take a heavy sigh. Knowing what the League usually assigns me with partner missions, I end up solo——all the time. And right now, a gang war’s erupted through Gotham. That’s why they needed me. But Onyx has done the job already, so all I can do is take out the trash.
But lately....memories have plagued me. I remember my fiancé dying....the image of her death sickens me when I got to sleep. Her screams....her laughter....her beautiful face. I never knew who did it...but I have doubts whether it was the League.
Onyx: “Hey, stop daydreaming! We’ve still got work to do.”
**Nanda Parbat, 3:15 A.M:**
“Hey Turner, great work today!”
“Don’t mention it. I’m just doing my job.”
“Sounds fair. I guess I’m just gonna go meditate before the meeting begins.”
“Sure. Just don’t take too long before the Sensei gets mad.”
To be honest, I’ve never actually liked the people—-the ninjas here. There’s always a feeling inside of me that doesn’t fit. I get the fact that I’ve been praised for my abilities and my prowess, but that doesn’t attribute to popularity.
Couple hours pass and I’ve probably forgotten my meal. But it doesn’t matter because eventually I’ll finish it up in a matter of minutes. It’s probably more important that the non-stop missions come first, which the Sensei addresses is at the debriefing.

Sensei: “Ah...Tiger...you are finally here. Now, listen up, we have mission to do. I will allow Turner here to lead your team, who’s just joined in time for this meeting.”
Ben: “What am I in charge of?”
Sensei: “Something very special....I think you would like it, Benjamin.”
Ben: “Just spill it, Master. Whatever makes it right for this job—-I will finish it with ease. But to be honest, I have been cleaning up far more messes than fixing it....”
Sensei: “That—is true. I know you’ve always been a solo player, Turner. This one might suit you fine. I’ll have the team backing you up for support.”
Ben: “That’ll do. Let’s get back to the main details.”
Sensei: “By the likes of the current gang war erupting in Gotham, its guardian is kept busy....and you must not interfere with him. But the enemies are aided by none other than your old friend....Richard Dragon. And we need you to eliminate him.”
My eyes go wide. My heart beats faster, upon hearing the sound of his name. Me and Richard have a shared history....I don’t even remember too much, but we trained together....ugh. Goddamn it. I shouldn’t let old memories disrupt my thoughts. Let’s just go straight with it.
Sensei: “Are you up for the task, Turner? This will be a high risk mission, you do what your are told. But I won’t govern or take too much of your time here....I trust you with the best of my abilities that you can handle this well. Are we clear?”
Ben: “Yes Master. Crystal clear. Your wish is my command.”
Sensei: “Good. You may leave with the team right away....I have personal matters to attend. That will be all.
Onyx: “Alright boys, let’s roll out!”
In a matter of minutes, we were going back to Gotham—-again. I must keep my emotions in check. To keep the mind conditioned, is to be calm.
Whatever it takes to finish a mission.
(Bronze Tiger straps on his claws, getting in the chopper. As it takes off, the sound of the copter blades whirl loudly, and goes toward the faint night....)
