Tug of Wickwar
British Beef in the form of 60092 has just exited the southern end of Wickwar tunnel just north of Yate at the head of 6B13 05.00 Robeston Sidings to Westerleigh Murco tanks.

Tug of War is a sport in which two teams compete by pulling on opposite ends of a rope with the goal of bringing the rope a certain distance in one direction against the force of the opposing team's pull (thanks Wiki).
Between 1900 and 1920 Tug of War was actually an event in five Summer Olympic Games with each nation being able to field up to three teams;
1900 Paris - Gold to a team of mixed nationalities(!?) and Silver France - no Bronze awarded
1904 St Louis - Gold and Silver USA and mixed nationalities Bronze
1908 London - Gold, Silver and Bronze GB (hah, get in!)
1912 Stockholm - Gold Sweden and Silver GB (only 2 teams competed in this event)
1916 - No Olympic events (don't mention the war)
1920 - Antwerp - Gold GB, Silver Netherlands and Bronze Belgium
Now then, assuming that when a sport is no longer represented at an Olympic event (and also applying standard pub rules of 'winner stays on') that would logically indicate that Great Britain are, and have been for the last 106 years and counting, the reigning Olympic Tug of War champions!
