Snowdonia
I have been watching a programme on the TV presented by Iolo Williams all about Snowdonia through the seasons and it has rekindled my passion for the place. I have let it slide for too long, so today I decided to head back to the hub of the Snowdonia National Park, Mount Snowdon itself.
Now I am not completely daft, its minus something ungodly out there with a windchill factor of a cyclone in a freezer so the summit was never my destination.
But if you follow the Miners Path you can get up to Llyn Llydaw, about 1.8miles without too much trouble, and the scenery is just amazing. It is awe inspiring and quite magnificent, and standing at the lake and looking up at the distant summit, knowing I got there for the first time a couple of years ago at the grand old age of 53, I am filled with a sense of purpose and pride.
