2466l Sankey Viaduct
A Northern Class 142 trundles eastwards between the portals on columns (piers) 7 (left) and 10 (right) atop Sankey Viaduct.
A third portal stands on top of pier 4, off shot to the left. The fourth and final portal lies out of sight next to the tracks waiting to be erected on top of pier 1.
The portals are hollow cylindrical structures, unlike any others on the Chat Moss line or Wigan Branch, unless anyone knows different.
Taken through the western boundary fence of the former Deacon Trading Estate south of Earle Street, Earlestown, looking south.
