I have a spectrophotometer (again)
I bought a ColorMunki sensor like Christoph Bartneck used for his book, since it seemed MUCH more accurate than the Spectro Pro 1 when using a SpyderCheckr 48 as a standard reference point, and I am happier with the results! :)
I've fully swapped my Color List over to the ColorMunki's hexes as the background for the LEGO color names, as well as RyanHex in the Fan Colors view. The more I compared the old colors to the new, the less satisfied I was with them. The ColorMunki's solid colors seem much more vibrant and it seems to do better with most transparent colors than the Spectro. The new chromes and other metallized colors turned out unexpectedly dark, but not necessarily worse than the overly pale Spectro colors IMO.
I did a little housekeeping on the webpage itself too — importing the fonts correctly, better padding/leading, fixing the lightness calculator so colors like Vibrant Yellow don't end up with white text.
Also recategorized a few colors — I'm now counting Flip/Flop colors as Opal, and Clikits' pearl white as an Ink. As soon as I realized I disagreed with BrickLink's categorization on some of the colors, it didn't make sense to use their system at all. I never liked "Satin" in the first place. (But I could probably be convinced to change "Metalized" back to "Chrome"...)
