SHE is perhaps one of Scotland's best-loved seafaring vessels. The Vital Spark has puffed its way through our imaginations since Neil Munro first penned his magical tales of Para Handy in the early years of the twentieth century. Now the boat that brought those comic tales to life for millions of television viewers is to receive a GBP400,000 makeover. The puffer boat skippered by Rab C Nesbitt star Gregor Fisher and maintained by its engineer, Dan MacPhail, played by the late comedian Rikki Fulton, was in danger of being dismantled and sold on eBay, the popular auction website, before she was bought by a maritime museum
