Spatule catches all kinds of animals that found in silt shallow water. She moves her peak rapidly from side to side. When traps a small animal , throws it into the air and swallowed as you can see in the photograph. In this case she has caught a shrimp. The peak size is impressive, and to move it so long and so fast its profile is very thin, so that the resistance in the water is small.
La espátula se alimenta de todo tipo de animalillos que encuentra entre el limo de aguas poco profundas. Mueve el pico de un lado a otro con gran rapidez. Cuando atrapa un animalillo lo lanza al aire y lo traga tal y como se puede ver en la fotografía. En este caso ha atrapado una quisquilla. El tamaño de su pico es impresionante, y para poder moverlo tanto tiempo y tan rápido su perfil es muy delgado, por lo que la resistencia dentro del agua es pequeña.
