I'm not very happy with the operation of my new 70-300mm lens for my new Canon Rebel camera. This photo was taken from about 50 feet away from the subjects using full automatic mode on the camera. The exposure was f7.1 at 1/400 with ISO setting at 400. Lens on the 300mm setting. The picture above was cropped down to about half the size of the original picture.
I am not happy with the focus. I think it should be much better. Does anyone have a suggestion as to how to improve this type of photo in automatic mode?
It was cloudy and the flash did not fire.
