A rather graphic and prominent skull on a memorial in the church of St Edward King and Martyr in Cambridge. Despite this reminder that we are only here briefly, St Eds is a calm, leafy oasis in the middle of the city, though its history is associated with key figures in the English Reformation, a number of whom, such as Hugh Latimer, met gruesome ends for their beliefs.
