Wearing these still servicible Chucks

As is evident, I'm far behind in posting photos here. This batch is all from May 2022. Only almost 6 months late. But I will get caught up, some day.

Most of this batch exhibits many of my perfect shoes, perfectly or nearly perfectly worn as I like them. The warm weather also has me often wearing rubber footwear of various styles. Over the summer I added to my collection of rubber footwear of various makes. More of those photos will soon come.

When I got these old Chucks, the rubber soles were already beginning to crack. The rubber is failing, beginning to crumble and cracking where flexed.

When I took the first photos, the right shoe had cracked all the way across, but the mudguard" still attached the two halves on one side. But by two weeks or so later, that had torn through and only the remains of the cloth upper is holding the toe of the sole in place. (Note that the newest photos, showing the worst condition, are first if you scroll through the photo gallery.)

The outsole on the left shoe is now cracked almost half way across, but the insole is still holding it in place. But given time, I'm sure it will match the right shoe.

Despite the appearance, particularly when the shoes are not on my feet, the shoes are wearable and comfortable. I hope to wear them for years to come.
