Oriental Pied Hornbill

The only extant hornbill in Singapore. Overall plumage is black with white lower breast, belly and outer tail feathers. Light blue facial skin around eyes and cheeks. Black patch of casque tends to be more clearly defined in the male (shown on the right). Nationally endangered, but extensive reintroduction programme has been successful.
