A Lockheed Electra, if I'm not mistaken. The earlier of the 2 Lockheed Electras, of course. The later Electra was introduced in the sixties or maybe late fifties. Its career carrying passengers was rather short but a version flies on with various navies as the Aurora, dedicated to anti-submarine patrol.
Maybe all this is beside the point, as the aircraft pictured might well be a Lodestar, a 14-passenger type used by Trans-Canada Airlines before and for a short time after acquisition of DC-3's.
