AR vs M4

To say an AR15 is an "assault weapon of mass killing only for military use" is absurd. While the M4/M16 variants do look similar to the AR15, the difference is in functionality. Most ARs are semi-automatic, M4/M16s are semi/burst or semi/fully automatic. And the AR15 was designed to accept a wide range of calibers, including ammunition popular in hunting use. AR doesn't stand for "Assault Rifle" it stands for "ArmaLite Rifle" ~ The term AR-15 was chosen by Colt for the civilian models it produced after selling the rifle to the U.S. military as the M16 rifle, and many people and references use the term AR-15 exclusively for civilian models. ~ wikipedia. Labeling rifles as "Assault Rifles" is like labeling a knife as a "killing knife". There's no call for a ban out for KA-BAR fixed blades even though the KA-BAR adopted by the United States Marine Corps in November 1942 as the 1219C2 combat knife. ~ wikipedia. It's labelled a combat knife but we all know it's a versatile utility knife.
