GP30 705 was one of the couple Soo GP30's not to be sold to the WC at start up. It looked healthy enough in this late June 1987 photo when it was leading 2553 and 10 cars west on train 12 at Kinross. Short trains like this were more common than not out of Sault Ste. Marie during the Soo's last summer in Upper Michigan.
