Admirando a W. Eugene Smith

Wonderful exhibition entitled "Más real que la realidad" of pictures by the US photographer W. Eugene Smith (1918-78)

It included photo essays for Life magazine such as "A Spanish Village" (1950), "Country Doctor" and "Nurse Midwife" (1950s) as well as series on Pittsburgh, Albert Schweitzer and the industrial pollution on the Japanese island of Minimata (1971-5) and its effects on the local population.

These were all powerful social and artistic documents. I hadn't been familiar with Smith's name or work before, and this exhibition was a real find!
