This photo meets the project goals because it is the recreation of a known image. i recreated a pepsi advertisement of beyonce. to take the picture i set up a spotlight very close, to the side and slightly above my face. i also adjusted the settings white balance to try and give the light a whiter appearance because tungsten made it more orange. in photoshop i flipped the image horizontally, and changed the image to black and white. i turned up the yellows, blues, magentas, and cyans and turned down the reds. i also used the spot healing tool to help fix some blemishes and then used a black paint brush to erase the black and white effect on my lips since i used makeup for that part. i think a strength of this photo is the way i got our skin to be similar in the lighting since she is lighter than i am. and also probably being able to use makeup for the lips instead of photoshopping the color in. a weakness would be not exactly getting the lighting the way the photo is. (shadows). also i didnt notice that some of the lipstick ran into the other, so i would have fixed that and tried editing the words on my cheeks. if i had more time i would have wanted to try a different source image for my photo and be able to experiment more with the photography and editing. overall, i am satisfied with this photo.
