Finale ÖBB loco-hauled service from Graz to Linz_IC600_051025_1
FINALE SPECIAL:
On Sunday 5th October 2025, ÖBB operated there final loco-hauled intercity services between Graz-Linz-Graz prior to the trains switching over to IR designated operations with units from Monday 6th October 2025.
Here we see ÖBB locomotive 1144 070 with the last ever IC600 from Graz to Linz. The train departed from Graz at 16.56 and arrived into Linz at 20.05 (ontime).
According to ÖBB Scotty, IC602 two hours behind IC600 was being worked by a Cityjet unit. That means this image is the final ever recorded loco-hauled working from Graz to Linz under the then arrangements.
Sadly, end of an era and very sad to see the Linz to Graz route going over to units, which in my humble opinion is a backward step in service provision and comfort :-(
I was fortunate enough to have taken a ride behind this locomotive from Kirchdorf to Linz.
They think its all over, it is now :-(
